Restorative Treatments

Occasionally teeth may require a dental restoration to repair damage to the structure of the tooth. The function, integrity, and anatomy of the missing tooth structure can be caused as a result of tooth decay, wear or trauma.

We offer several restorative treatment options for cracked or broken teeth, as well as missing teeth. Air abrasion technology, a drill-less technique and dental lasers are often used to remove small areas of tooth decay without the need for anesthetic. Other treatments available at Albany Dental Care include:

Dental crowns may be used in a number of ways. Dentists may wish to restore broken teeth, protect weak teeth or to cover discolored teeth. While there are a number of reasons to use dental crowns, not all crowns are created equal. At Albany Dental Care, we know the different materials used in crowns and why some materials are chosen over others.

Stainless steel, metals, porcelain-fused-to-metal, ceramic and all-resin are options available, and we will educate patients concerning benefits and any drawbacks of each available material. Crowns can be temporary or permanent – we can provide solutions while permanent crowns are constructed.

Individually crafted for each patient, cosmetic veneers are enhancements made from advanced material that closely resembles the appearance of natural dental enamel. Teeth are often an impression we leave upon others.

We at Albany Dental Care provide education on the cleansing and care of the veneers so that it provides an avenue for patients to maintain their natural teeth and the overall health of their gums and mouth. Our objective is to protect the remaining teeth while providing for their proper function.
